Absolutely wonderful service. Very welcoming and friendly. Made to feel very welcome with a young child. They where absolutely wonderful with her and actually spoke to her rather than just the adults. Unfortunately after the sherry stopped serving food we lost all decent pub grub. But thankfully the George has brang it back. Highly recommend

I lovely meal out. The food was delicious albeit very filling, I had Haggis, neeps and tattiies with a whiskey and Bailey's sauce. However there was a lot of sauce, which was pretty rich.followed by a lemon tart and raspberry ripple ice cream. Thank you to the staff, who were very welcoming.

The best pulled pork burger ever! Also the chunky chips was nice and crisp on the outside and beautifully soft and fluffy inside. My partner had a seafood platter. She said it was some of the best fish she's had in ages. I highly recommend this place.

A group of 6 stayed in The George Inn for a wedding. The new manager Lee is amazing and you can tell this place is going strength to strength. Above and beyond service, couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. Sometimes you can tell people love what they do, that’s the impression we got from this place. Food great, good bar, rooms are all you need, location amazing and service top tier. If I visit anywhere near this part of the country I certainly will be staying here.

Helpful friendly staff and new manager Lee went above and beyond to accommodate me and my dog. The ethos is a 'good home cooked food pub with rooms'. Only tried the breakfast which was home from home. Rooms were extremely clean, tea/coffee kettle provided. Could do with some upgrade on curtains. Old building presents challenges for modern bathrooms - macerator was a bit noisy. Could do with a light above the basin. Large shower. Overall would recommend this as perfect when needing somewhere local to stay.

On holiday in the area & booked on the off chance. A very popular place but we didn't feel crowded in. Sunday lunch was superb and cooked to perfection. Even though it was busy the service was quick and everyone was helpful.

Really good, we were on our way back from sorting family matters out in Devon and took a break there for lunch. We arrived just a few minutes before lunchtime service ended but they were very accommodating, very friendly and we had a lovely ploughman's lunch each, nothing was too much trouble. Excellent service , beautiful location and we will at sometime hope to stay there to explore the local area too.

An absolutely lovely village pub. Good food, clean, comfortable rooms and friendly, helpful staff, though they were a bit thin on the ground the first night I was there. The building dates back to the 1500s as you can tell from the low doorframes and uneven floors upstairs. The room I stayed in was clean and well decorated with a very comfortable bed and an ensuite bathroom with a nicely fitted shower cubicle and switchless, movement sensitive lighting, all very nice indeed! The pub is only a couple of minutes drive from Stourhead and not far from Longleat, all in all an excellent location for exploring the West Country. I greatly enjoyed my stay and hope to visit again the next time I spend a few days out west.

This old pub is owned by Hall and Woodhouse, but it has retained its character while serving good beer and lovely food. The bar staff were friendly and the food was excellent. There's a lovely real fire in the bar. Our bedroom was comfortable and warm.

Fantastic service, they opened the kitchen specially as we were passing through on a long trip. Chef made really great pies, very tasty and with all the trimmings.
